READ here for an update to our writeup on October 1, 2021:  LOCAL: THERE MAY ALREADY BE A “WINNER” FOR THE REDISTRICTING MAP CONFIGURATION FOR THE CITY OF GREENSBORO, NC!

The Guilford County Board of Commissioners adopted MAP F as the new redistricting map for Guilford County.  There was some public concern because 4 maps had been presented for review by the public, 2 were withheld from the public, and 1 was not introduced until Wednesday.  The vote was 6-1 in favor of adopting MAP F.  Go here to view all maps, including MAP F:   637704954311770000 (guilfordcountync.gov).  Chair Alston lectured all in attendance at the November 4, 2021 Commissioners meeting that MAP F was a collaborative effort with Republicans in the General Assembly (specifically mentioning Jon Hardister) agreeing to it.  Alston stated that MAP F should not be viewed as the “Skip Alston map” even though it is titled the” Chairman’s map.”
